Jim grew up in Los Angeles, CA and moved to San Antonio, TX where he completed high school. While attending college he applied for the San Antonio Police Department and was accepted and worked until his retirement in 2004. During his time with the SAPD, he was a canine handler where he learned how to train and handle dogs. In 1991, Jim met his wife, Dr. Sherri Youngblood, and they have two wonderful children, Rachel and John, along wiht eight Arabian horses that their daughter shows, five cats and three dogs. In 1997, Sherri decided to open her own veterinary office and Jim assisted her on his days off from the PD. In 2000, Sherri and Jim build what is now known as Spring Creek Animal Hospital and Jim joined Sherri full-time in the summer of 2004 as the Hospital's Practice Manager. In his spare time, Jim likes to go hunting and golfing with his son, horseback riding with the family and attend horse shows.
